The German manufacturer Mercedes-Benz at the beginning of the year announced that it is developing crossover powered by hydrogen. Ultimately company revealed details of the model GLC F-Cell, which is the world’s first hydrogen hybrid capable of charging from the mains. With a fully charged lithium-ion battery Mercedes-Benz GLC F-Cell can travel on electricity alone about 50 km. The total transition crossover with full tanks of hydrogen is 500 km, charging them takes no more than three minutes.
The modification is RWD and by the end of the year it will hit the markets in Germany, Japan and the USA. In 2017 the car will be offered in other countries. Almost simultaneously Mercedes-Benz will offer all-electric GLC, that a single charge will also travels about 500 kilometers.
Both versions of the crossover – hydrogen and electricity, will debut before an audience at the Paris Motor Show in October.
