The four-generation Supra was produced until 2002, and the fifth generation will have to appear next year – a full 16 years later. The sports car was developed jointly with BMW, as Bavarians will use units of the machine to build its own model – Z5, which will be the ideological successor of roadster Z4.
At present it is known that both cars will be the size of a Porsche 911. The new Supra and future BMW Z5 will get a chassis developed by the Bavarian manufacturer, but will be powered by Hybrid Synergy Drive technology with Toyota.
We know already that the production of Toyota Supra and BMW Z5 will be concentrated in the factory of company Magna Steyr in Austria. The total circulation of the two models a year will be around 60,000 units.
